ABOUT US

We believe that some students have disproportionate access to advice on how best to access top universities and jobs. At Next Steps, we want to help students achieve their higher education and career goals, and believe that flexible mentorship will allow for this.

HOW WE DO IT

MENTORSHIP PROCESS AND STRUCTURE

Using our program, students will be assigned a mentor that will meet with them regularly to discuss careers, personal statements and other application related topics.

  • Each mentee will be assigned with a mentor that matches their subject area which will assure that we can provide in-depth and relevant information during sessions.

  • Our team is constantly expanding and we are proud to have a diverse range of knowledge which covers all subject areas.

Next Steps believes that tuition is most useful in a casual one on one format. Mentors will tailor their sessions to the students needs and will be guided by a set of principles that all meetings will follow. These include the following:

  • Sessions are a conversation in which the student feels comfortable asking questions

  • Students will be constantly reviewing targets that the mentor will update at the start and beginning of every sessions

  • Students and mentors will communicate via their university and school email and will maintain a professional relationship at all times

  • Sessions will be 30 minutes

WHAT WE DO

Next Steps offers two types of mentorship:

  • Career

  • University Application advice

Each program is separate and therefore sessions will be separated to provide expert advice in each area. Mentors will use teaching material provided and produced by Next Steps together with personalised activities.

HOW WE RECRUIT STUDENTS:

Next Steps aims to reach as many enthusiastic students as possible. To do that, we will make contact with a school asking to present to the students about what the company does and how they can benefit from it. At this point, it is up to the students to contact Next Steps as we want to work with driven young adults who want achieve on their own. They will then be asked to fill out a short questionnaire so that we can match them with the best mentor for them and together, they will start sessions as soon as possible.
